Lance had a job in Maryland so the family decided to tag along and visit Karl, Karen and their girls (and dog) in Virgina. The girls played great together (most of the time) and play out very complicated scenes. Their favorite toys to play with are Polly Pockets, they can disappear for hours with those things. Ethan and their dog Maisy quickly became great friends. I bet Ethan threw Maisy's ball for her about a million times and he loved every minute of it. They all loved the trampoline, even the babies, Anna and Audrey. Even though she was getting bounced around pretty good, Anna threw a whooper of a tantrum when it was finally dark and time to go in.
On Monday we drove South to meet up with Richie, Brooke, Trevor and Savannah. The kids clicked instantly and they had a great time. We had lunch at a park while the kids played and then went to Colonial Williamsburg. It was a fun place with lots to see it's a good thing we had Louis (Ethan) and Clark (Trevor) to guide us around the town with the map.
We went inside the church at Williamsburg and the girls picked up the books and started singing primary songs, it was really cute. While the kids had fun playing the grown ups had fun talking. Brooke and I have known each other since we were about 9 years old and at one point we just kind of looked at each other and said, "Where did we pick up these husbands and these kids?" Whoa, life comes at you fast.
The rest of the trip was spent at museums, riding the metro and looking around D.C. But the kids always just wanted to go back to Julia's house, which is where they had the most fun any way. It was great to let cousins who live so far away get to know each other better.
